What Can We Help With?
I Want to Protect Myself from HIV
HIV PrEP. Daily medication for ongoing protection before any exposure.
I Want to Get Tested for STIs
STI Screening. Rapid results from 15 minutes, full panels within 72 hours.
I May Have Been Exposed to HIV
HIV PEP. Emergency medication that must be started within 72 hours.
HIV PrEP: Protection Against HIV Before Exposure
HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a medication that significantly reduces the risk of contracting HIV. It’s designed for HIV-negative individuals who are at higher risk of exposure.
PrEP may be worth considering if:
- You have a partner who is HIV-positive.
- You have multiple sexual partners or partners of unknown HIV status.
- You regularly engage in unprotected sex.
- You have recently been diagnosed with another STI.
- You use injection drugs.
Daily or On Demand: Two Ways to Take PrEP
Not everyone needs a pill every day.
The schedule depends on whether your risk is ongoing or confined to a short window.
01
Daily PrEP: one tablet a day, for continued or unpredictable risk
02
On-demand PrEP: taken around a defined period, such as travel or a new relationship
03
Your doctor recommends the schedule after discussing your circumstances
04
You can move between the two as your situation changes
STI Testing: 6 Warning Signs to Know
01
Unusual discharge from the penis or vagina
02
Sores, blisters, or ulcers around the genitals, mouth, or anus
03
Unexplained rashes or lumps in the genital area
04
A burning sensation or discomfort when urinating
05
Pain during or after sexual intercourse
06
Flu-like symptoms such as fever, fatigue, or swollen glands shortly after exposure
HIV PEP: Protection After Potential HIV Exposure
HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) is an emergency course of medication that can significantly reduce your risk of HIV infection if taken soon after a potential exposure.
When to consider PEP:
If you've had unprotected sex
If you've experienced a condom failure
After any other high-risk exposure event
Get Quick, Confidential HIV Results in 3 Steps
Step 1
Consultation and Necessary Tests
During your initial consultation, you’ll meet with either Dr Chew or Dr Goh who will:
- Have a confidential discussion about your potential exposure
- Conduct an HIV test to ensure PEP is appropriate for you
- Check your kidney function to safeguard your health during treatment
- Assess your unique situation to provide personalised advice
Step 2
Starting Your PEP Course
If PEP is suitable, your doctor will:
- Prescribe a 28-day course of PEP medication
- Explain the dosage (typically 1 tablet per day) and the importance of taking it as directed
- Walk you through what to expect over the next 28 days
- Provide guidance on managing any potential side effects
- Schedule your follow-up appointments
Step 3
Follow-Up Testing After PEP
Your care doesn’t end when your PEP course does. To ensure your ongoing health, we recommend follow-up HIV testing:
- 1 month after completing PEP to provide peace of mind
- 3 months after your potential exposure to definitively confirm your status
At your follow-up, your doctor will discuss comprehensive STI screening and offer guidance on staying healthy and protected moving forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is My Visit Completely Confidential?
Yes. All consultations and test results are handled under strict medical confidentiality. The clinic’s location on the second floor of an HDB block adds a further layer of practical privacy for patients who prefer it. Your visit remains your business alone.
I Have No Symptoms. Do I Still Need to Get Tested?
Yes. Many STIs (including HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhoea) are commonly present with no symptoms at all. The only reliable way to confirm your status is to get tested. Early detection makes treatment significantly more straightforward and prevents onward transmission.
How Quickly Will I Receive My Screening Results?
Rapid HIV and syphilis tests deliver results in 15 to 20 minutes. Comprehensive screening panels are typically returned within 72 hours, which is the standard clinical turnaround time across sexual health clinics in Singapore.
I Think I Was Exposed to HIV Less Than 72 Hours Ago. What Should I Do?
Contact the clinic immediately. HIV PEP must be started within 72 hours of a potential exposure, and ideally within 48 hours, to have the strongest chance of being effective. Same-day consultations are available, and urgent out-of-hours arrangements can be made where possible.
What Is the Difference Between HIV PEP and HIV PrEP?
PEP is an emergency course of medication taken after a potential exposure to HIV. It must be started within 72 hours. PrEP is a daily preventive medication taken before any potential exposure occurs, suited to individuals who are at ongoing risk. If you are unsure which applies to your situation, a doctor can advise during a consultation.
Will My Employer, Insurance Company, or Family Be Notified?
No. Your visit, consultation, and results are strictly confidential between you and your doctor. Nothing is shared with any third party without your consent.
